Quortex Quality-Aware Compression is an end-to-end video encoding solution that uses AI-driven rate control and real-time predictive VMAF to automatically optimize bitrates per channel. Instead of encoding at a fixed bitrate, the system targets a defined quality level and dynamically selects the variable bitrate needed to achieve it. How does it reduce delivery costs? By encoding each channel with only the bits needed to meet a defined quality target, the solution eliminates wasted bandwidth across your entire channel lineup, with direct savings on CDN and network delivery costs. What is pVMAF and why does it matter? Predictive VMAF (pVMAF) is Quortex real-time quality metric, running continuously during compression with minimal resource impact. Unlike post-encoding quality checks, it allows the system to maintain quality targets and alert operators immediately when a channel falls below threshold. Can I set different quality levels for different channels? Yes. You can assign a different pVMAF target to each channel, for example a higher target for premium sports and a lower one for long-tail content, allowing you to balance quality and cost across your entire lineup.
