Gwendal Simon is Senior Director of Technology at Quortex, where he leads technology and innovation across video processing, distribution, and streaming infrastructure. He holds a PhD and an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in Computer Science, worked at Orange, and spent a decade at IMT Atlantique as Associate and then Full Professor, directing a multimedia delivery research lab, with visiting research roles at the University of Waterloo and Adobe Research. Before joining Quortex, he also led a team of researchers in network measurement at Huawei. He has contributed more than 100 papers to international standards bodies including MPEG, SVTA, DASH-IF, and IETF. He has also been Quortex's key representative to the OpenMOQ consortium since its founding.
